From Steve Ashby, our bookings manager for New Horizons: Because of the continuing lack of rain and consequent low water levels, as well as the risks to our crew from the extreme heat, we won't be running boat trips this Sunday (14 August). Please check this website or our Facebook group for information about trips on subsequent Sundays and August Bank Holiday.
The canal has been closed for navigation since 13 July, though there were more visiting boats than usual earlier in the season.
Yorkshire Water has announced that there will be a hosepipe ban from 26 August and with luck that will mean that the rain arrives!
