Wednesday 15 April – PCAS Annual General Meeting, Melbourne Village Hall at 19:30.

Thursday 7 May 2026 – Talk by Craig Ralston from Natural England
at Melbourne Village Hall at 19:00.
 

This will be a celebration of migratory birds to coincide with World Migratory Bird Day which is on 9 May.

 

Craig's talk will be followed by pie & peas  and tea/coffee.
Tiickets cost £12.50 per person and should be booked in advance with

The choice of pie should be given when booking and the choices are:

Steak, Cheese &  Onion (vegetarian), Garlic Mushroom, Leek and Lentil (vegan). Gluten free options are available.

Saturday 9 June and Saturday 23 June – Guided bird spotting walks

These will be led by Natural England & PCAS.  Find out where the local cuckoos are, hear about reed buntings and spot other birds and identify their calls. You will also hear more about the history of the canal and restoration work.

 

The walks will start at 09:00 at Melbourne Arm (access runs beside the Melbourne Arms pub - please park in the village and walk down). No charge but please indicate you are attending to Carole Jones –07800 693756  email - carolelouise11@gmail.com

Sunday 5 July – Family fun day at Melbourne Arm

Starts at 11:00

This is a popular annual event.  More details will follow but it will include boat trips, pond dipping, guided nature walks, making plant bombs, model boats, plant stall and refreshments. At Melbourne Arm (access beside the Melbourne Arms pub - please park respectfully in the village and walk down). Just turn up - No need to book and no entry fee.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
